Halloween or Hallowe'en is a festival-holiday that celebrates in Western Christian feast of All Hallows Day. Halloween takes place in October and is a specific date in many countries on 31 October. It is observable in every corner of the streets and dedicated to remembering the dead.
This day is based on some historical story and influenced by ancient Celtic Harvest, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain, which may have had pagan roots.
The most popular activities these days are joining Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins into lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting hunted attractions, watching horror movies, telling scary stories.
As this day is dedicated to remembering dead ones Christians attend church services and lighting candles on graves of the dead, remain popular although it is more celebrated as a more commercial and secular celebration.
Another interesting fact about this day is some Christians historically abstained from meat on All Hallows' Eve, a tradition reflected in the eating of vegetarian foods on this day, including apples, potato pancakes, and soul cakes.
